Seed to Fruit…and Cherry Blossoms
In Japan, the cherry blossoms (sakura) are beginning to bloom in full force and on through early May…such a spectacular site! This event is celebrated throughout Japan with cherry blossom viewing parties (hanami) under the trees. Blossoms range in color from white, pink, and yellow as well as 5 to 100 pedals per bud!
As a precursor, Yoko Mori, UMA student from Tokyo (to graduate this April!), shares with us her “seed-to-fruit” theme set up on her classroom Science Table. Branches shown are lemon, rose, juneberry, persimmon, apricot, crabapple, and cherry.
Thank you, Yoko, for sharing!
