In the Montessori classroom, we do not “pretend” to pour tea from a plastic tea pot into a plastic cup. We use real porcelain, cloth napkins…and everything beautiful. Here is a Practical Life “pouring” activity submitted by UMA student, Nurcan Acar Soydan from Turkey. This tea set includes a special doily, hand crochet by her mother 45 years ago. Lovely and inviting.
Thanks to Angela Baldock, UMA student from Tasmania, who shares her original project “Bocce Transferring.” It is fun to see how ordinary items found in the home can be creatively turned into beautiful Practical Life exercises.
Another option for the tongs would be to place them horizontally on the front of the tray.
